What is an Emulator?
An emulator duplicates (provides an emulation of) the functions of one system with a different system, so that the second system behaves like (and appears to be) the first system. This focus on exact reproduction of external behavior is in contrast to simulation, which concerns an abstract model of the system being simulated, often considering internal state. So what does this simply mean?
The use of emulators allow any computer system to pretend to act like hardware and duplicate it's processes. Yes, it's possible to play an game on any device as long as the emulator has the ability to keep up. It's possible to play Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, and Mario NES all on your Desktop and PDA.
Can I Download Emulators?
Yes, emulatorpro.com allows the download of any emulation files that are contained on the site. If not, links will be provided to download the proper emulator. Emulators are not illegal and have many legal uses. The files in question are ROMs that are illegally downloaded. Some great emulators include PJ64, Snes9x, Zsnes, 1964, Jnes, and FCE Ultra.
Can I Download Commerical ROMS from here or anywhere?
No, Emulatorpro.com does not have any ROM files on the server, nor do we link to any particular sites. The pages only represent legal ways to obtain copies of the game. Downloading Commercial use of ROMS from anywhere is illegal. The gaming industry has come far to support the remakes of games such as Final Fantasy on DS and PS1.
What Are Roms?
ROM first of all stands for Read-Only-Memory. In order to play the SNES version of Chrono Trigger, you must first of all download the file. You will then need an emulator to play the file. Emulatorpro.com only host ROMs that are of legal status and you must find other ROMS on your own.
What ROM site do you recommend?
I recommend only legal ones to support the use of further emulation development. Emulatorpro.com does not endorse any ROM Sites.
Plugins?
Plugins are files that are used by more advanced emulators. Emulators are made up of various programs to decode the sound, graphics, and etc of a game. If the emulator your using plays poor on your PC, it might be a good idea to scope for some good plugins. Ensure that your emulator allows the use of plugins. Some plugins will slow down your computer even more and others will help the game run more smoothly.
My Computer Plays Games very Slowly.
The reason for this might be due to poor use of plugins or well, you just might have a slow computer. A Pentium I processer cannot handle the PJ64 emulator. Try upgrading various components in your computer. The biggest recommendation that I have to upgrade is the users graphics card. If your graphics card is built in to computer, good luck... you will need an insane processer and fast RAM to handle large scale graphics.
Most Popular Emulator The most popular is emulator for downloading is the PJ64 N64 Emulator. |
